While the staff are on vacation this month, we brought in some outside help. They make funny noises but seem to be getting the job done!
Also, please remember our VG shop hours are Wed through Saturday!
Now, what did those things do with the torque wrench?

We are Back! My brain hurts and my eyes are red, but that’s okay because our site is running again.
Time to reset and get ready for a podcast today for my latest article in Scuba Diving Industry Magazine. Make to sure to check it out!
Cheers y’all,
Jeff
Well, it’s been a day.
Jeff’s been busy with updates on the website and it’s not playing nicely today.
We are aware the site is down, so while that is being sorted out, we hope you visit our social media accounts and enjoy some great videos and pictures of our adventures. It’ll be back online soon so we’re gonna just relax and take it easy for now. Email and phone/WhatsApp work so that’s a win!
Hope your day is going better than mine!

Happy International Manatee Day!
Manatees are large aquatic mammals, found in shallow rivers and other coastal areas. They range from 8 to 13 feet long and weigh between 440 to 1,200 pounds. They can live up to an average of 40 years.
They have no natural enemy except for humans. Manatees have been hunted for their meat and are protected by the Marine Mammal Protection Act of 1972 and the Endangered Species Act of 1973. However, humans continue to be a threat to these creatures with the pollution that manatees consume or destroy their habitats and ships that they often collide with. The loss of habitat has increasingly contributed to their endangerment.
The Save the Manatees Club, the world’s leading manatee conservation organization, devoted this holiday to educating people on how to save and protect the magnificent manatee from deadly human activities.
Manatees may be rare visitors to the BVI, but every sighting is a reminder that our waters are connected to a much bigger Caribbean ecosystem.
Now you know where the name Sea Cow’s Bay comes from…that’s right, Sea Cow is another name for manatee!
They are also vulnerable to boat strikes, habitat loss, human harassment, fishing gear and marine debris.
So if divers, boaters or snorkelers are lucky enough to encounter one: give it space, don’t chase or touch it, keep vessels slow and clear, and report the sighting to the appropriate local authorities/conservation organizations. The BVI government’s marine-mammal guidance specifically asks people to report sightings and maintain distance from marine mammals.

We really miss this legend around here.
The BVI was a special place to JB and we love hearing him sing about our beautiful islands. From secret concerts to boat cruises, you just never knew where he might pop up!
Sail on sailor.

🩺❤️ React Right Training Successfully Completed! ❤️🩺
Dive BVI and the Ciboney Centre for Excellence are proud to celebrate the successful completion of another React Right First Aid, CPR & AED training course in our Virgin Gorda community!
We welcomed a great mix of first-time students and returning participants renewing their certifications, and everyone came ready to learn, participate, and put their skills into practice. 👏
Throughout the course, participants:
🫀 Practiced CPR skills on our demonstrator models
🚨 Worked through realistic rescue scenarios
🩹 Applied first aid and bandaging techniques to one another
⚡ Built confidence using their emergency response skills
The energy and engagement in this class were fantastic! We always have so much fun teaching React Right, and it’s especially rewarding to share these important, potentially life-saving skills with our Virgin Gorda community.
A huge congratulations to everyone who completed the course! 🎉 Your willingness to learn and be prepared makes our community stronger and safer.
Not certified for CPR and First Aid? Call us! We can come to you and train your staff, family, and friends. September is a good time to refresh those skills before we get busy with tourist season again!
Be prepared. Be confident. Be ready to React Right!
