Dive BVI Team Members

Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour Staff

Jeff McNutt - A proud Texan, Jeff moved to Virgin Gorda in 2003.  He is a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and can teach at least 12 specialties...there may be more!  He managed our Marina Cay location for two years before moving into the General Manager position.  Jeff is really excited to teach divers about Nitrox and how we make it here in the BVI.  Always on the water, Jeff loves saltwater sport fishing and cruising for new dive sites on our DPVs.  Jeff maintains the website and enjoys Texas country music and watching the Dallas Cowboys.

Casey McNutt - Arriving with Jeff, Casey has made herself at home here.  In charge of Retail Operations, she is responsible for ordering all of the latest dive gear and resort wear for our three locations.  While shopping for new styles is fun, she still enjoys getting out and leading dives at some of her favorite sites which include Ginger Steps and the Chikuzen.  Casey has been lucky enough to dive with a hammerhead and a tiger shark in the last few years.  In her spare time, Casey exercises regularly and climbs Gorda Peak just for the fun of it!

Paul Gondek - Paul is our Location Manager at Little Dix Bay Resort where he teaches our Discover Scuba courses in the sheltered waters of the bay.  Oftentimes he shows his students the resident turtles and seahorses found near his "office".  An avid animal lover, Paul is right at home with our plentiful marine life.  He is from Chicago and doesn't miss the winters, but he does miss the pizzas.  Favorite VG pizza:  Maui Chicken pizza at the Bath & Turtle pub

Andrew Smith - Coming to us from Yorkshire in the UK, Andrew loves to dive, dive and dive!  He's worked in Provo, the UK and Cyprus.  Andrew is quite happy to have traded his dry suit in for a new thin wetsuit...no more cold water for him!  His newest pursuit is tracking down and photographing the elusive Ginger Island seahorse.

Rudy Woodley - Originally from St Vincent, Rudy ("Doc") is the only West Indian PADI Divemaster working in the BVI.  He's been with Dive BVI for as long as we can remember and is an excellent captain.  Rudy would love to show you the marine world he grew up in when you visit!  You'll also see him out on the cricket and soccer fields of Virgin Gorda and Tortola.

Belinda Kloppers - A dual citizen from South Africa and Canada, Belinda joined Dive BVI in November 2007, along with her "hubby" Johan.  She became "hooked" on diving in 1999 after doing a discover dive in Kenya, and FINALLY, in early 2007, decided to give up her "real job" in HR/Industrial Psychology to become a full time Scuba Instructor. Belinda, now a MSDT Instructor, has also instructed in British Columbia, Canada and Crete, Greece. Belinda loves working with people (especially youngsters) and are looking forward to the warm, beautiful waters of the BVI.... Her favourite dives are night and wreck and she also loves to travel and dive around the world, teach, read and live life to the fullest.

Christian Fisher - after spending some time on the Brac in Cayman and Provo, Christian joined the Dive BVI team in March 2008.  He splits his time off between soccer (or football as he calls it) and grilling out.  Followed by more soccer.

Ruby Daniel ("Finey") - Called Finey because, as a baby, everyone in her St. Kitts neighborhood said she looked so fine.  Finey has been with Dive BVI for over eight years!  As our friendly store clerk, Finey is so helpful with our divers and shoppers that they often find more than they were looking for! She is the source of all island information so stop by and let her fill you in.

Meron Napier - Hailing from Hull in the UK, Meron is a PADI Divemaster and can be found working on our charters and helping in the retail shops.  She really loves being in the sunshine and doesn't miss the UK at all!  She's our new "Charter Girl" so you'll see her smiling face on our Anegada trips and private charter excursions.

Suegolam Singh - the only full-time, dive staff engineer in the BVI.  Singh's unparalleled skills and our five dive boats motivated Dive BVI to grab him from a local mechanics shop.  Singh also makes sure our compressors are at their best, giving you the purest air.  Singh is from Guyana and loves rotis.

Leverick Bay Staff

Cori Gondek - The better half of Paul Gondek, she enjoys identifying the awesome variety of aquatic life found in the BVI.   Cori thoroughly enjoys diving on the many wrecks scattered throughout the islands.  She's been with Dive BVI since 2000 and worked previously in Aruba.  She claims to be the Virgin Gorda Domino Champion, but we're not so sure about that.

Soren Kofoed - have been working 9 years in the dive industry, started out in Thailand after 3 years moved Cyprus where he was ground crew on a Bungy jump site.  He spent a little over 3 years in Barbados, worked in Shanghai-China at a big Aquarium taking people on shark dives and last
worked in Greece before joining Dive BVI.  He loves soccer/football and Man United is the best team in the world.  He likes to explore dive sites a little further than our normal routes and that's how he found the stingray cleaning station on Ledges.

Theresa Bascombe - Hailing from Grenada, Theresa has lived on Virgin Gorda for ages.  She has been a store clerk for Dive BVI for over ten years!  Theresa continued her family here and is raising two brilliant children, Akin and Tahira, along with her husband, Glen.  Recently, her first son, Stephen, joined her from Grenada after graduating high school.

Marina Cay Staff

Andy Sutherland - did his first intro dive in Antigua in 1997 and has been hooked on diving ever since. So much so that he left is regular job back in Edinburgh Scotland over two years ago to dive professionally. Andy has since worked in the Red Sea (Egypt) and most recently Curacao and with his partner Sadie, manage our Marina Cay operation. Andy likes rock and heavy metal, fast cars and watching Scotland play at rugby.

Sadie Phyn - was 'persuaded' by her partner Andy to try diving on a holiday in Egypt's Red Sea. She loved it so much that three years later she gave up her job as an IT professional to go back there and work as an instructor. Since then she has traveled through Central America diving in stunning locations such as Mexico's Yucatan coast, Belize, Honduras and Nicaragua before settling again in Curacao for a year.  She has now found her little slice of paradise helping Andy manage our Marina Cay operation and can't see herself leaving for a very long time....

Johan Kloppers - Born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa but lived in Vancouver, Canada since 2003. Dry Suit, Wet Suit - it really doesn't matter - just let me blow bubbles.  Diving allows me to indulge myself in my first passion which is to study how the eco-systems on earth interact with each other. Sharing this with anybody who would listen is what makes me tick.  My other passion - or rather obsession - is the glamorous world of speed in Formula 1. In my spare time I am an amateur astronomer, or on cloudy nights, I just read a good book.

Emma Nicholsby - Emma joined the team in March 2008 after diving in Provo.  She is quite proud to be Scottish even if we can't understand a word she says sometimes!
